Director of Development

Project N95 is looking for a Director of Development that biases towards action and understands how to unlock, enable, and accelerate others, leading by example. This role will be responsible for the supervision of the Development Team in alignment with the Partnerships Team.

As our mission is focused on supporting frontline organizations and ensuring their health and safety, the success of the Development team will enable Project N95 to grow and implement our capital campaign strategy and extend awareness of the organization's mission more broadly to relevant institutions including but not limited to governments, businesses, other non-profit entities, philanthropic organizations, and technology companies.

The Director of Development is primarily a relationship management position and will lead development strategies, organize events, identify and reach out to potential donors, and build campaigns that increase public awareness about our efforts. You will also assist with grant proposals, requesting foundations or corporations to support our organization.

The Director of Development will be reporting directly to the Executive Director and working closely with the senior-level leadership. You will also work closely across all functional teams as the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Embrace the mission of Project N95 and is passionate about forwarding its goals through partner relationships
  • Organize fundraising initiatives and develop marketing campaigns
  • Reach out to potential donors and oversee prospect research
  • Maintain relationships with previous donors and gift recognition programs, updating the donor database and tracking systems
  • Write and/or oversee grant proposals on behalf of Project N95
  • Raise public awareness and make public appearances/accept speaking engagements
  • Build strong relationships with employees and oversee their progress, noting any issues or successes
  • Coordinate multiple team-wide procedures and work to improve existing processes for maximum clarity, efficiency, and success
  • Attend executive meetings and deliver progress reports of Development and Partnership teams

Qualifications
  • Ability to quickly and in a sustained manner cultivate development funds and connect with donors
  • Ability to network, connect with, and engender strong connections with 3rd-party organizations, associations, and governments
  • Ability to interface dynamically with all manner of representatives from existing and potential partnership organizations
  • Demonstrated capability to write and communicate effectively via phone, video calls, and email appropriately with to establish, secure, and develop partnerships, connections, and relationships to the benefit of Project N95's core objectives
  • Capability to conduct one’s self in a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with stressful and/or with difficult situations
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of staff and volunteers
  • Ability to prioritize key tasks & adjust as needed; effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities
  • Highly experienced with project coordinating and management
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; other applicable graduate degree preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience in a leadership/management role
  • Professional fundraising and grant writing experience preferred
  • Relationship management skills
  • Organizational and communication skills; management principles and history of having lead teams and/or organizations
