THE END OF AN ERA

The Project N95 shop has closed.

As funding declines and society responds differently to the urgency of the pandemic, Project N95 remains dedicated to making a difference. While the nonprofit shop has officially closed, we are maintaining a product guide to help you access highly-protective, authentic masks. Please note that all links direct to third-party websites not controlled or operated by Project N95.

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, reliable masks and other equipment were scarce. Supply chains broke down, shipments of desperately needed masks were diverted, and counterfeit PPE flooded the market. Doctors and nurses found themselves facing impossible odds as they treated overwhelming numbers of patients with little or no protection.

Project N95 stepped into this frightening void, and you came with us. We vetted products, connected healthcare professionals to reliable sources, and worked with manufacturers to stand in the breach for all the real heroes trying to save lives.

As the pandemic evolved, so did we. Our team reviewed thousands of products for authenticity, distributed more than 37 million units of critical PPE through our nonprofit shop, and donated more than 5 million items to those working on the front lines and others in need.

But this isn’t our story. Your purchases, donations, and support made it possible to help hundreds of thousands of people who thought help would never come. YOU SAVED LIVES.

It has been our honor to serve so many during this moment in history. We never could have done so much good without you. While this is the end of our chapter, the impact we made together will not be forgotten.

THANK YOU FROM PROJECT N95!

Frequently Asked Questions

Project Updates

What happened at Project N95?

The Project N95 shop has closed.

We also know many of you rely on our advice when identifying reliable respiratory protection. We have provided a purchasing guide of previously vetted items to help you find reliable protection.

Why did you wind down operations?

Proceeds from the Project N95 shop and financial contributions from our donors were not sufficient to support our charitable mission. We have made the difficult decision to wind down operations and donate remaining inventory and funds in order to do as much good as possible with our limited remaining resources.

Where can I buy masks once the shop is closed?

We know many of you rely on our advice to identify reliable respiratory protection. We have provided a purchasing guide of previously vetted items to help you find reliable protection.
